Customers & products

The two registers that make invoicing fast: who you invoice, and what you sell.

On this page

Two small registers sit behind the invoice screen. Filling them in once saves you retyping on every invoice afterwards.

Customers

A customer holds:

  • Name
  • PEPPOL id — the address the invoice is transmitted to. In Norway this is 0192:<org number>, e.g. 0192:929347900
  • Address
  • VAT-exempt — whether this customer is exempt

Add one from the + next to Customer on the New Invoice screen, or manage the list from the same picker. You can edit and delete existing customers there.

The PEPPOL id is the part that has to be exactly right. If a send fails complaining about it, check it looks like 0192: followed by nine digits with no spaces.

Products

A product holds:

  • Name
  • Unit of measure — Unit/each, Hour, Kilogram, and so on
  • Unit price
  • Description

Add one inline from the + next to Product on an invoice line.

The unit price is a default, not a fixed price. It pre-fills the line and you can override it there without changing the product itself — useful when you discount a particular job.

Why the unit of measure matters

The unit of measure isn't a free-text label; it comes from a standard code list that the PEPPOL network validates against. That's why it's a picker rather than a text box, and why an invalid one is one of the more common causes of a rejected send.
