Payroll, and the A-melding that comes with it

Run salary for a period, have it booked to your ledger automatically, and get the monthly A-melding built from the result.

Payroll is live. If you employ anyone, you can now run salary in ByteBill and have the result posted straight to your accounts.

What a run does

Keep a record per employee, run salary for the period, and check each payslip. The country rules are built in:

  • Norway — feriepenger, arbeidsgiveravgift and OTP
  • United Arab Emirates — end-of-service gratuity

The rates behind those are editable, so when one changes you update it yourself rather than waiting for an app release.

Posting the run aggregates every payslip into one balanced payroll voucher in your ledger, with each component on the account its country pack specifies. A payslip PDF is generated for each employee and archived.

And then the A-melding

The monthly A-melding is built directly from your posted payroll runs. ByteBill assembles it, validates it against the schema, and hands you the file — you submit it yourself to a-ordningen.

Because it is built from the ledger rather than typed in again, fixing a problem means fixing the source. If validation complains that an employee record is missing something the A-melding requires, correct the record and prepare it again.

Worth doing early

Fill in the employment details on each employee record as you create them, rather than at the end of the month. They are the fields the A-melding needs, and having them there means the return assembles cleanly the first time.
